Hinchinbrook By-Election (29 November 2025)

The ballot draw has been done for the by-election in the Queensland State seat of Hinchinbrook.

Family First suggestion for how to preference the candidates: HTV

Dr Amanda M. Nickson
Amanda is a wife, mother of three adult children, a qualified Social Worker, Pastor, author, and speaker.

Amanda pursued a career in social work as an expression of her Christian faith, with a deep commitment to helping and serving people in times of need. Her professional journey spans roles across government, non-government organisations, academia, and private practice. She currently operates her own business, providing training, supervision, social work services, and organisational consultancy.

Her Christian beliefs are the foundation of all she undertakes. Amanda serves on the leadership team of her local church and actively contributes to women’s ministry in various churches and community groups.

Amanda is a passionate advocate for strong families, which she sees as the cornerstone of a healthy Australian society. She is concerned that many political parties overlook family values, while some actively undermine them.

Having supported the Family First Party since its early days, Amanda continues to endorse its vision, believing it offers a rare political voice prioritising family and pro-life values. She is now standing as a candidate for the Hinchinbrook electorate in the upcoming state by-election, giving voters the opportunity to support a representative who stands for strong families and the sanctity of life.

Vote 1 Amanda Nickson for Hinchinbrook — and remember to number every box.
