Court acknowledges "real risks" of LGBTIQA+ gender fluid ideology, yet politicians silent
The Family Court's recent decision to permit a teenager, pseudonymously referred to as Ash, to access cross-sex hormones exposes the dangers inherent in LGBTIQA+ gender fluid ideology.
Judge Peter Tree openly acknowledged the "real risks" posed by so-called “gender affirming” treatment, including potential infertility, irreversible physical changes, and uncertain mental health outcomes.
Yet, instead of erring on the side of caution, the court chose to allow the treatment, citing Ash's "dignity of risk."
This stark admission by the judiciary underscores an urgent question: why are Australia's elected politicians failing to protect vulnerable children from harm?
Leaving these contentious and life-altering decisions to courts demonstrates a glaring abdication of responsibility.
The Family First Party strongly believes that it is not the role of judges to navigate such complex issues without clear legislative guidance.
Policymakers must urgently step up to safeguard children and provide a framework grounded in scientific evidence and long-term welfare.
Legal academic Professor Patrick Parkinson has expressed deep concerns over the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in children, noting, "Many parents now have serious concerns about the safety and efficacy of these treatments."
He advocates for thorough psychological investigation and therapy before any medical interventions are considered.
The Family First Party echoes these sentiments and urges Australian politicians to heed the lessons of international reviews, such as the UK Cass Review, which recommended extreme caution in administering such treatments to minors and led to the closure of the UK’s Tavistock child gender clinic.
Child gender clinics abound in Australia, despite the UK and many other nations ditching LGBTIQA+ gender medicine.
Failure of Australian politicians to act will only lead to more children being subjected to unproven and potentially harmful medical procedures, with the courts admitting that "regret cases" are likely in the future.
This is a pivotal moment for Australia's leaders.
Politicians must confront the risks of gender fluid ideology and act decisively to implement laws that protect children from unnecessary and irreversible harm.
The Family First Party is fielding candidates at the up-coming federal election who will fight for the protection of children from harmful LGBTIQA+ gender fluid ideology.
The jig is up for Australia’s child gender clinics as UK bans puberty blockers
The United Kingdom has taken a bold and necessary step to protect children by indefinitely banning puberty blockers for children.
British Health Secretary Wes Streeting made it clear that these drugs pose "an unacceptable safety risk," acting on the advice of medical experts and the overwhelming evidence of harm.
Australia's politicians must now face the facts: this is a massive medical scandal, and it's time for them to do their job.
The Cass Review in the UK exposed the shaky foundations of prescribing puberty blockers to children, highlighting a lack of evidence for their safety and effectiveness.
In her review, Dr Hilary Cass stated that these drugs could irreversibly alter psychosexual and gender identity development.
The review also led to the closure of the Tavistock Clinic, a sobering reminder of the dangers of ideology-driven medicine.
Yet, in Australia, clinics like those led by Dr Michelle Telfer in Melbourne and Dr Stephen Stathis in Brisbane continue to prescribe cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers to children as young as 14.
The Victorian Health Minister has even admitted that the Melbourne clinic refers girls under 18 to private clinics to have their breasts cut off so they can attempt to be boys.
This is despite international experts pointing out that Australia's guidelines on so-called gender-affirming care lack independence and fail to screen for critical underlying issues, such as autism or body image problems.
The jig is up. To these leaders of Australia’s child gender clinics and their LGBTIQA+ political allies pushing radical gender ideology: stop destroying the lives of vulnerable children.
Puberty blockers are not the harmless pause button they are often portrayed to be.
They have been linked to reduced bone density, mood swings, fertility issues, and irreversible changes in sexual development.
As Streeting rightly stated, prescribing these drugs without rigorous safeguards is "a scandal."
The Family First Party calls on Australian politicians to act decisively. Shut down these clinics and open an independent investigation into how such harmful practices were allowed to proliferate.
The safety of children must come first. Australia's political and medical class has presided over a devastating scandal, and accountability is long overdue.
If a woke UK Labour government can prioritise the safety of children and reject the emotional blackmail of activists, so can Australia.
Weak and woke politics must no longer stand in the way of protecting our children. Family First demands action.
Shut the clinics down, investigate the scandal, and ensure this chapter in medical history is never repeated.
Action: Join the fight for protecting children from the gender whisperers, join the Family First party today.
If the new UK Labour government can ban puberty blockers, why can’t we?
Our politicians can't say they didn't know.
