Andrew Amos, Candidate for Ryde

Andrew grew up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and spent many years working in North Ryde before making Ryde home. He has three children, two of whom also live locally, and two grandchildren.

Andrew has had a varied working life, beginning as an electronics design engineer in the defence industry before working across banking, warehousing and IT. Andrew later worked as an electrician in rural and domestic settings, before going on to train apprentices and deliver vocational training in schools.

Along the way, Andrew also completed a degree in theology and has spent time ministering to men, school children and people in prison. When his own children were young, he saw firsthand the value of faith-based education and believes strongly in protecting the ability of parents to choose it for their families.

Andrew’s Christian faith shapes his approach to public life. He believes in strong families, freedom of speech and religion, equality before the law, and a government that respects the freedoms and responsibilities of its citizens.

He is committed to protecting human life from conception to old age, supporting rehabilitation for offenders, and ensuring energy policy is guided by sound engineering and practical outcomes so Australian families and businesses can access reliable, affordable power.

Andrew is standing for Family First to give Ryde a strong, principled voice in the New South Wales Parliament.
