The NSW Education Department has launched a new, outrageous attack on fathers.
The department's 2026 School Planner Calendar for Cultural Diversity lists Mother's Day and Grandparents Day. Yet Father's Day has been dropped.
In its place, that weekend is marked for Krishna Janmashtami, a Hindu festival most NSW families have never heard of.
Good fathers make a real difference in a child's life.
Increasingly, though, our institutions treat men as a problem to be managed rather than a presence to be celebrated, and this is what that looks like in practice: a woke bureaucracy quietly dropping the one day set aside for fathers, while leaving every other family member's day untouched.
That's political correctness, plain and simple.
And it's part of a wider pattern: One Sydney school recently merged its Mother's Day and Father's Day activities into a single "Parents and Loved Ones Day," so as not to "isolate" anyone.
Kids notice what gets celebrated and what doesn't. Drop Father's Day from the calendar while keeping Mother's Day and Grandparents Day, and the message to every child is clear: honouring Mum matters, honouring Dad is negotiable.

Father’s Day has sneakily been removed from the NSW Department of Education's school calendar in the name of multiculturalism.
Mother's Day is still there. Grandparents Day is still there. Yet Father's Day is gone.
Good fathers are an asset to their children and society. They are not a problem to be erased by government schools.
Dropping the one day set aside to honour them, while keeping every other family day, fits a wider pattern of treating men as the issue rather than the asset.
This is political correctness gone mad and it is dangerous.
