Gemma Macaulay, Candidate for East Hills

Gemma Macaulay is a wife, mother and former primary school teacher passionate about defending families, protecting children and strengthening her local community.

Her connection to East Hills runs deep, with her family calling the area home for three generations. As a mother, Gemma is involved in local playgroups and community life, giving her firsthand insight into the experiences and challenges local families face.

Growing up in a large family taught Gemma the importance of faith, family and community. Now raising her own family, she understands firsthand the pressures facing parents and believes they should be supported to raise their children according to their values.

As a former primary school teacher, Gemma has seen the growing pressures facing our schools. She is concerned by the influence of radical gender ideology.

She believes children should be protected, parents should be respected as the primary decision-makers in their children’s lives, and schools should focus on education rather than indoctrination.

Gemma is standing with Family First because she believes the family is the bedrock of our society. She wants to be a strong voice for young families, defend the innocence of children and help build a culture that values faith, family and the dignity of every human life.
