Geoff Dethlefs, Candidate for Monash

Geoff Dethlefs is a retired School Teacher and Principal, who recently pastored a small West Gippsland Church.

His education involved achieving B.A., Dip.Ed. at Sydney University (1962-65), and gaining M.Ed. from Sydney University in (1969-72).

He was married to Nan Dethlefs for 56 years and together they worked as teachers in NSW, South Australia, Victoria and Queensland, including a year in New Hampshire, USA. They have two daughters living in South Australia with their families.

Most of their teaching has been in the non-government sector, and since 1983, in Christian Schools.

Now in his 81st year, Geoff is eager to contribute to wiser government in Australia, where baseload power is realistically sought from either coal, gas, or hydro and nuclear power is seriously explored. He sees the slight warming of the planet as a cyclic matter; it will cool again … and destroying our environment and prime farmland recklessly in the pursuit of a ridiculously expensive woke dream as disastrous for our economy and future.

He is standing for Family First in the electorate of Monash, his home for the last nineteen years.
