Jason Briggs, Candidate for Newcastle

Jason Briggs is a born and bred Novocastrian from a working-class family and has lived in Newcastle all his life. He was a former member of the Australian Army for over twenty years and has a background in security and protection operations for big industries, ports, private enterprise and government. He is a decorated former member of the New South Wales Police Force leaving the policing profession after 16 years of service to partner with his wife Sandra in their efficiency consultancy business in 2021.

A husband and father of two children with strong ties to the local Newcastle community, Jason has a Diploma in Security and Disaster Management through Warborough University in the United Kingdom and a Degree in Policing Practice from Charles Sturt University. As a frontline Police Officer, Jason has seen, in real time, the destruction and social harm inflicted upon Australian families and the community through government policies and legislation driven by Labour, Greens and woke Liberals.

Jason knows and understands firsthand that traditional Australian Judeo-Christian values, freedom of speech, law and order, religious freedom, reliable energy and smaller government with responsible financial and economic management are imperative requirements for the safety, security, prosperity and freedom of every Australian family which creates the means to provide for the most vulnerable people in our society.

Jason is committed to defend and protect children, including unborn children, the elderly, women and parents, from harmful extreme left-wing ideologies. He wants to lower the cost of living, secure energy and promote economic growth with greater economic diversity.

Jason wants an education system that focusses on building children intellectually and developing productive and constructive minds instead of debasing the minds of children with social Marxist indoctrination and propaganda.

But above all, Jason is very passionate about the urgent need for the protection of free speech and religious freedom which he regards as significant pillars of freedom and democracy.

‘After 30 years in the military, security and law enforcement space, I never thought, in my wildest imagination, that some of the greatest threats to our national security, prosperity and communities would come, not from our enemies - foreign and domestic but from within the walls of our own Government.’
