John Purdon, Candidate for Blair

I have been married for 36 years to the same amazing lady. I am a father of four and a grandfather of four. I did my apprenticeship as a fitter/turner/machinist at Swanbank Power Station and worked in heavy industry in Australia and overseas. I joined the Regular Army in 1991, discharging in 1995. I also served in the Army Reserves from 1985 to 1987 and again from 1997 to 2002, I also served in the Airforce Reserves from 2002 until 2012.

I have worked as a community volunteer at the Rosewood Community Center as a volunteer counsellor and committee president. I have volunteered in the past as a soccer coach and Justice of the Peace, and helped build the Port Moresby Bible College. I also volunteer as a Veteran’s Advocate and Human Rights Advocate.

I am currently completing a Degree in Psychology (Honors) at university, where I have seen firsthand the woke agenda being enforced on our young people, as well as antisemitism and disdain for the church.

I strongly believe in the family unit as being fundamental to community harmony, strong family values produce strong individuals with good morals and integrity. The family unit must be defended and given the ability to instruct our future leaders without interference and undermining by the bureaucracy.

I have lived with the belief that the bible holds the blueprint for daily living and on a larger scale for our nation’s prosperity. I will fight for biblical principles, and therefore, I embrace advocating for Family First, as biblical principles are at the heart of Family First’s policies and agenda.
