Kim Farnham, Candidate for Charlestown

Kim is a retired High School Teacher who has spent 38 years in Education, mainly in Christian Schooling. She is passionate about supporting families and educating young people to think critically, to discern the truth and to feel secure in their identity and character.

Kim has been married for 43 years and loves being a wife, mother and grandmother. She believes that families are the foundation of society and feels strongly about parental rights not being undermined by government.

Kim has lived in the Newcastle/Lake Macquarie region for her entire life, residing in the Electorate of Charlestown for the past 43 years. So, she knows the area well and has seen the positive and negative changes in the region. She was educated at Newcastle High School and graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in Education.

Kim grew up in a Christian family that was very community minded and actively involved with Rotary and Rotaract. She has raised her own family in the church and loves to serve in various capacities.

With an interested in politics for many years, Kim decided to stand with Family First as she believes strongly in the ethos of the party. Sadly, our government no longer represents the Judeo-Christian values which founded our nation, so we need more Christians in parliament and people with integrity.

Freedom of speech, religious liberty, parental rights, the sanctity of life, marriage and family, and the protection of children from dangerous ideologies, are important values that Family First will defend. Kim strongly supports these policies and feels called to fight for families and freedom in our changing society.
