Matthew Reeves, Candidate for Swansea

A husband, father of five and proud grandfather, Matthew Reeves has spent his life serving others through education, ministry and community leadership. Living in the Lake Macquarie region, he is passionate about building stronger families and communities where every person has the opportunity to thrive.

Matthew brings extensive experience across education, law, finance, ministry and the not-for-profit sector. He currently works as a secondary teacher and university lecturer and has held leadership roles in schools, alternative education, and community organisations. These experiences have given him a practical understanding of the pressures facing Australian families, including the rising cost of living, housing affordability, educational challenges and the values shaping the next generation.

As a Christian pastor and educator, Matthew believes strong families are the foundation of a healthy society. He is committed to protecting the rights of parents, supporting faith-based schools and organisations, defending freedom of religion and conscience, and ensuring government decisions strengthen rather than undermine families.

Matthew believes strong communities are built when families, churches, schools and local businesses are free to serve their communities without unnecessary government interference. He supports responsible economic management, greater accountability in government and practical policies that help families build secure and hopeful futures.

Matthew is standing for Family First because he believes New South Wales needs principled leaders who will put faith, family, freedom, and community back at the centre of public life. He is asking for your support to give families across Swansea a strong voice in the New South Wales Parliament.
