Mike Brown, Candidate for Nepean

Mike Brown is a husband, father of seven and grandfather of nine. He and his wife Vicki live in McCrae on the Mornington Peninsula. They are active members of St Mark's Anglican Church in Dromana, where they support the church's community activities and Op Shop.

Mike grew up in Melbourne's eastern suburbs and has lived and worked everywhere from Mount Waverley to Lilydale. He has more than 40 years' experience in engineering, business, real estate, Christian ministry and community leadership, so he knows the pressures facing families and small businesses.

He is a fully licensed real estate agent and a former small business owner, and he has helped thousands of Victorians buy homes, build businesses and secure their futures. His Christian faith has guided a lifetime of service. He is a certified Anglican lay minister and community chaplain, and he has served as People's Warden at St Mark's.

Mike believes government should back people who take responsibility, reward hard work, and manage taxpayers' money with discipline and transparency. He values the part Australia's Judeo-Christian heritage has played in shaping our freedoms. He supports freedom of religion for all Australians and equality before the law, and he takes a firm stand against extremism.

His priorities for Nepean are:

  • supporting families and children
  • protecting freedom of religion, speech and conscience
  • expanding parental choice in education
  • strengthening government accountability
  • tackling debt and cost-of-living pressures
  • backing small business and job creation
  • keeping communities safe.

As a grandfather, Mike knows the decisions made today will shape the Victoria our grandchildren inherit. He is standing to give Nepean a strong, principled voice in Parliament.
