Paul Bachelor, Candidate for Nicholls

The federal seat of Nicholls holds great historical significance, encompassing both the birth and resting places of Sir Douglas Ralph Nicholls KCVO OBE and Lady Nicholls. As a former Christian minister and State Governor, Sir Douglas was a man of deep conviction and integrity—qualities that are increasingly at risk in today’s society as foundational values are eroded.

A proud resident of the Echuca area for 45 years, Paul Bachelor is a devoted husband to Barbara, an acclaimed nurse, and a father of six with 12 grandchildren. His firsthand experience has made him acutely aware of the destructive consequences of declining values and untested ideologies.

Paul’s diverse professional background includes training as an Electrical Power Control Operator, designing lighting systems for Melbourne Airport runways and control towers, and years of study leading to a career in education. He has taught senior secondary Mathematics and Physical Sciences, pioneered computing in Northern Victorian schools and professional offices, and lectured for TAFE and corporate training programs. His extensive travels across Australia and over 20 countries have reinforced his belief that a multi-racial society thrives on shared values, but social experiments and ideological shifts must not come at the cost of long-term stability.

A three-time candidate for Family First, Paul firmly believes that true progress comes from building upon strong, time-tested foundations. He is committed to ensuring that Family First has a voice in government to protect and uphold the values that sustain stable communities. Support Paul and Family First in this vital mission for the future of Nicholls and Australia.
