Alison Waters brings a wealth of life experience, strong Christian values and a genuine commitment to families and community to her candidacy for Family First in East Gippsland.

Originally from South Australia, Alison completed her Dental Assistant's Certificate before joining the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), which brought her to Victoria in 1982 when she was posted to Melbourne. Her time in the RAAF helped develop her strong sense of service, responsibility and commitment to others.

Throughout her working life, Alison has gained valuable experience across healthcare and education. She has worked as a dental assistant, a phlebotomist in pathology, and an Education Aide at a Christian school.

Alison also holds a Certificate IV in Education Support and a Certificate III in Pathology Collection. Now retired, Alison continues to contribute actively to her community.

Six years ago, Alison and her family made East Gippsland their home after years of holidaying in the region and developing a deep appreciation for its natural beauty and welcoming communities.

As a mother of three adult children, Alison is passionate about preserving and strengthening the family unit. She is particularly committed to preventing family violence, protecting children and ensuring families have the support they need to thrive.

Alison's Christian faith is central to her life, and she strongly identifies with Family First's commitment to faith, family and community. She actively volunteers at her church, serving as Finance Team Leader and contributing her time and skills to support its work.

Outside her community involvement, Alison enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening and travelling.

As the Family First candidate for East Gippsland, Alison is committed to representing the values and concerns of local families, protecting vulnerable children and supporting strong, safe and connected communities.

Alison believes that strong families are the foundation of a strong society and is passionate about helping build a future where families are valued, children are protected and communities can flourish.
