Bundaberg axes Gender Queer

In a win for families, the Bundaberg Regional Council has removed the graphic memoir Gender Queer from its library shelves.

The book, which contains shocking and paedophilic content, had no place in public libraries, especially in sections accessible to children.

Its presence on library shelves in the first place is a stark reminder of the failures in safeguarding young readers from exposure to such harmful material.

The controversy surrounding Gender Queer centres on its explicit and graphic depictions of sexual acts involving minors, which have been widely condemned as inappropriate and deeply disturbing.

The inclusion of such content in a book accessible to children has sparked outrage among parents, educators, and conservative advocates, who believe that its removal is not only justified but long overdue.

Lyle Shelton, Family First National Director and ADH TV Host, praised the council's courageous decision, recognising it as a critical step in addressing the concerns of families.

"Kudos to the council for removing it," Shelton stated.

"This book is utterly inappropriate for a public library, particularly in the children’s section. Just because it flies under the rainbow political flag does not mean it is suitable for children."

Shelton also gave credit to Bernard Gaynor, a tireless advocate against the book's availability, for his relentless efforts that played a crucial role in this outcome.

"Bernard Gaynor deserves recognition for his unwavering activism. His efforts have been instrumental in achieving this victory for families and ensuring that such harmful content is not accessible to our children."

Gaynor, who has long been vocal about the dangers of Gender Queer, expressed his satisfaction with the council's decision.

During an appearance on Shelton’s ADH TV program, Gaynor remarked, "Bundaberg is the first council in Australia to seriously address this issue and take the book off the shelves. This is fantastic news, and I believe other councils will follow. This book needs to be removed. Under Australian law, its content is actually unlawful."
