Climate bureaucrats top Albo’s $5 billion public servant spending spree

New climate bureaucrats make up the bulk of the 26,000 new public servants Anthony Albanese has hired since coming to government.

Labor’s staff spending spree has added an eye-watering additional $5 billion in recurrent spending at a time when the nation’s public debt is approaching $1 trillion.

While these jobs are filling Canberra offices, families across Australia are bearing the brunt of rising inflation, driven in large part by the government’s excessive spending.

Much of this growth in government jobs has been directed towards so-called climate change initiatives in the public sector.

This has a direct impact on the cost of electricity as these bureaucratic roles inevitably result in additional regulations, compliance measures, and government interventions that stifle Australia’s ability to produce affordable and reliable electricity.

By pushing costly climate policies and expanding government spending on “green” jobs, the Albanese government is effectively passing on higher electricity costs to struggling households.

This increase in energy costs is particularly damaging for families already squeezed by inflation and high mortgage rates.

Albanese promised to address the cost-of-living crisis, yet his actions have only made it worse.

Family First calls for an end to the Albanese government’s reckless spending, demanding a disciplined approach that reduces the size of government, not increases it, and prioritises the needs of Australian families over political agendas.
