Family First believes one of the single best ways to support families and businesses is to have affordable, secure and reliable energy. Australia is a country of abundant natural resources and we believe the government must play a constructive role in releasing and stewarding the natural resources of the nation for the common good in a manner that is environmentally sustainable.
The current Net Zero targets are destroying our country’s economy. Australians are paying higher bills, losing industry, and watching regional communities suffer under the spread of industrial wind and solar.
Family First believes in a commonsense approach to our energy mix utilising coal, gas and nuclear to ensure affordable, secure and reliable power.
Family First will ensure Australia’s energy needs are met by:
- Ending the Net Zero targets;
- Abolishing renewable subsidies;
- Withdrawing Australia from the Paris Climate Accord;
- Protecting the environment by banning all subsidised wind and solar on agricultural land, native forest or virgin land;
- Green lighting the development of nuclear power;
- Keeping all remaining coal fired power stations open and operational;
- Restoring and reopening closed coal fired power stations using new high efficiency technology where possible;
- Unlocking gas reserves by lifting restrictions on exploration;
- Increasing gas supply and ensuring we have reserves to drive industry and jobs;
- Increasing the petroleum reserves to ensure transport security;
- Removing all restrictions and penalties on diesel vehicles;
- Removing all subsidies and incentives on EV’s (electric vehicles).
