Family First fights for truth in birth certificates at upcoming Qld election

The Family First Party will fight to restore the integrity and truthfulness of birth certificates following the introduction of radical new gender self-ID laws.

The recent amendments to the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act allow individuals, including children under 16, to change the gender on their birth certificates without even undergoing any surgical procedures.

In just four weeks since the law's enactment on 24 June, 247 applications have been submitted, including 11 from children

Of the 142 completed applications, about two-thirds are from biological males transitioning to female.

These foolish laws undermine the very essence of biological truth and compromise the safety and wellbeing of children and women.

Birth certificates are not just pieces of paper; they are vital records that reflect an individual’s biological reality which make-up, cross dressing and even surgery and hormones cannot change.

Birth certificates are used in numerous critical contexts, from medical treatment to legal identification.

Ensuring that these documents are accurate and truthful is essential for maintaining trust and clarity in our society.

One of the first to take advantage of these new laws was Emily Wells, a biological male now purporting to live as a female, who received his updated birth certificate on 5 July.

"It’s really hard to explain the euphoria," Wells said.

"To me, it’s corrected something that was done wrong 60 years ago."

While his personal journey is very sad, alterations to birth certificates must consider the collective impact on society, not just individual fulfilment.

Another example is the case of a young child whose parents applied for a gender change on their behalf.

These decisions, made at such a tender age, can have irreversible consequences. Puberty blockers and surgeries come with significant risks, including infertility and lifelong health issues.

It is our duty to protect children from making such life-altering decisions prematurely.

The Queensland Government took no notice of mounting evidence, including that of the Cass Report in the UK, which proves the harms to children of so-called “gender affirmation care”.

The inclusion of biological males in women’s spaces also raises significant safety and fairness concerns.

Sports, shelters, and other areas designated for women are designed to protect their privacy and security.

Allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports or access these spaces undermines the integrity and safety of these environments.

The Family First Party is committed to restoring truth and integrity to birth certificates. Our candidates will fight to ensure that these vital records accurately reflect biological sex, protecting both the individual’s health and the societal structure.
