Family First Pledges to Repeal Gender Self-ID Laws to Protect Women and Children

MEDIA RELEASE

The Family First Party has pledged to repeal the Queensland Government’s gender Self-ID laws to ensure the safety and privacy of women and children in public facilities.

A recent online threat by a biological male to access the women's change rooms at Milne Bay Aquatic and Fitness Centre in Toowoomba underscores the urgency of this commitment.

Queensland Campaign Director for the Family First Party, Mrs Alex Todd, was horrified to learn from a distressed friend that an adult male, dressed in a crop top with visible cleavage, had been approved to use the women's changing facilities at the centre.

Mrs Todd said that when questioned, the centre's staff stated they believe they are bound by 'law' to allow patrons to use the bathroom of their choice.

Mrs Todd is awaiting a call back from the centre's manager to clarify the legal basis for this policy.

Despite reaching out to all Toowoomba Councillors, the Mayor, and state members Trevor Watts, David Janetzki, and Pat Weir, there has been no official response at the time of this release.

"The centre has facilities for men, women, and lockable unisex facilities. Why is an adult man with body image issues insisting on access to an open plan women's change room?" Mrs Todd questioned.

"In a community facility, we need to be other-person centred, not selfishly insisting on imaginary 'rights'. There are no issues with this individual using the facilities like any other community member, but access to shared changing facilities for women and children should not be granted to an adult male," Mrs Todd added.

Family First has endorsed 16 candidates for the upcoming state election, with more to come, to advocate for policies that protect families from Woke social and economic agendas.
